As we take time to appreciate our moms this month, we recognize that they do a lot to be the best moms that they can be. Being a mom often means balancing family responsibilities with a career. This is especially true for biathlon athlete and mom, Tracy Barnes.

Tracy, a Shaklee Pure Performance Team member and mother of one, has competed in the sport of biathlon for over 15 years, travelling around the world representing the U.S. in world championships and games. She fell in love with the sport when she was in high school, and has competed with her twin sister, Lanny ever since. “Biathlon is an adventure,” said Tracy, “There are so many elements that go into it that make the sport unpredictable. I think that’s what makes it exciting.”

Tracy stopped her training when she became pregnant. Her first child, Tiegan, was born on New Year’s Eve 2014. “It’s such a wonderful, difficult and exciting adventure,” Tracy said. Having a baby brought a lot of new changes for her and her husband, so she took some time off to be with her family.

As a new mother, she’s getting back into shooting sports. Right now she’s teaching firearm courses to law enforcement and military trainees. “I’m getting back into the swing of things – doing a lot of training, and looking forward to seeing where things go,” Tracy said.

Tracy is like many other Shaklee moms who balance their careers, kids and hobbies. Being a mom is one of the toughest jobs out there, which is why we want to help you find that balance so you can live the best life for you and your family.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of our talented and inspiring moms!
